What problem is it solving?
It solves the handoff problem where the list lives in one place, photos live somewhere else, and updates are buried in messages. Each item lives in a single record so everyone can see what is still open, what has been completed, and what still needs review.
Is it only for the very end of a project?
No. It fits final punch work well, but it is also useful during active renovations and mid-project cleanup when you need to document corrections, add visual context, and keep follow-up moving.
How it works on the job site
How is a project created and shared?
An owner or project manager creates the project, adds punch items, and shares one project link with the people who need access. From there, each participant opens the same list on their phone.
What does a contractor see when they open it?
They see the open items, descriptions, photos, comments, and status changes. The point is that they do not have to reconstruct context from a message thread because the detail stays attached to the item.
How do photos and comments work?
Each punch item can hold photos and comments inside the same record. That makes it easier to show location, finish quality, or expected correction without separating the image from the explanation.
What happens when someone finishes an item?
The work can be marked done, but it does not disappear right away. The owner or project manager reviews and verifies it before it comes off the active list, which makes closeout clearer and easier to trust.
Access and daily use
Do contractors need usernames and passwords?
Not in the traditional sense. SitePunch uses a phone-based sign-in flow with one-time codes so people on the job can open the project quickly without creating and managing separate passwords.
Is SitePunch meant to replace spreadsheets and text threads?
Yes. The goal is to stop forwarding photos, copying notes, and maintaining a separate running list. SitePunch keeps the item history in one place so daily coordination stays cleaner.
Can it be used from a phone on site?
Yes. The app is designed around phone use so project managers and contractors can open the project, review items, upload photos, and leave comments from the field.
Where does SMS fit in?
SMS is currently used for user-requested one-time login codes during sign-in. It is not positioned as a general promotional texting or marketing platform.
